A fun run is a non-competitive, enjoyable footrace, often organized to raise money for charity. Participants are encouraged to run, jog, or walk at their own pace, with the focus on participation and having fun, rather than achieving a specific time or placing.
The course is a decent 2.5k loop, and for those doing the 5k run, you’ll just need to go round twice. If you’re a bit younger or just finding your feet with running, one lap or two is absolutely fine.
Start/Finish is located at the top of Walkington Road. This is where you will need to register

Cattle code for runners
If cattle are around do what the marshals tell you:
• don’t get too close to cattle
• slow down and go round cattle
• stop if cattle cross in front of you
Cattle code for volunteers
• give way to cattle at all times – don’t try to move them on. If they are
interfering with equipment just walking slowly towards them may encourage
them to move away.
• give cattle a wide berth
• take extra care if you are volunteering with a dog
• divert runners round cattle if necessary
• tell runners to slow down if cattle are on or very near the course
• tell runners to stop and wait if cattle are crossing the course
• tell runners to walk or stop if cattle are running on or very near the course
• report any problems to the run director
• look out for cowpats!
